The Fixations Biography

The Fixations didn't record. The Fixations were Tom Gartland (bass), Greta Gartland (keyboards), Malcolm Marsden (guitar, ex-Saucers), and myself. I was introduced to them by a mutual friend (Big Fat Combo's Tom Hearn). Their drummer had bailed, just as they'd booked three gigs in New Haven as a prelude to heading off to NY to take a whack at making it big. I covered the 3 gigs and we had a ball. I'd moved twice in the past year, however, so I wasn't interested in uprooting again to go to NY. This was in early 1980. They continued for a year or so before calling it quits. Tom worked as a recording engineer on several notable dance recordings in the 80s. Malcolm lives in NJ and recently resurfaced on the Furors tribute album.
