This is a pretty complete discography of Connecticut “new music” from 1975-1985. I hesitate to use the word “complete” because I know that there are still undiscovered records out there from our little state. I have been adding to this list for about a year and a half now and though the updates are now infrequent, every once in a while something “new” pops up. Many of these records I have never seen or heard so I may be wrong to include them here but until someone tells me “Hey man, that Chum and the Feeding Frenzy’s record is straight up country and western twang”, I’ll keep it on the list. (Note: no such record, I made it up so don’t email me looking for copies!)

Of course, I’m not too proud to admit mistakes. I’d rather have this be historically accurate and swallow my punk rock pride than to contribute errors to our musical legacy. If you know of any misinformation , omissions or just plain valuable facts about any of these bands, please contact me and set me straight! I can say with some degree of confidence that this is the most complete discography available anywhere for Connecticut punk rock and all of it’s relatives. Lastly, I desperately want many of the records listed here to add to my ever expanding CT archive. If you’ve got ‘em well you’ve got me just where you want me. Although, I would suggest the donation route since it will surely give you pleasure to see me save my money for food and shelter instead of squandering it on scratchy vinyl discs. I’ve added a $ after the ones that I don‘t have. Oh god, it really is an illness……….

Ok, so your band was around in CT’s punk rock early days but you never released a record. Although somewhere in an old shoe box stashed deep within’ the dusty depths of your attic you have a copy of the studio sessions that were recorded or maybe even some lo-fi cassette recording or video of the first time you played at Ron’s Place. Now is the time to dig those embarrassing songs out and do what should have been done years ago…SEND THEM TO ME! I just finished putting together one compilation release of obscure old recordings and I’m not nearly satisfied with stopping there. I’m already thinking about a volume II. Even if the tapes are of such bad quality that they are not fit for release (I’ll be the judge of that, thank you very much) they need to reside in my CT archive so that I can give them their place in CT punk rock history.

At the end of the discography is a list of band names that I’ve culled from newspaper articles, flyers etc…but have yet to hear any recordings. ANY info would be greatly appreciated!
